UC2577 Circuit Issues

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS40210, TPS61175

Is there a demo board available for the UC2577?  If so, how can I get hold of one?  Is there a SPICE model available as well?

I am having difficulty getting my UC2577 circuit to work correctly in my power supply design.

My present circuit limits at 7.9 amps of input current before shutting down L.

Basic circuit is attached.  My input ranges from 15-33V.  The expected output is 37V (1.0 A max).

Any input and suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Hi, can you please review this post?  Please let me know if additional information is needed to provide a response.

    Thanks,

  • I do not recommend using this very old part which switches at 52 kHz.  There are newer solutions that give a better total solution.  If you can slightly reduce your output power or increase your input voltage, you could use the TPS61175 with a split Vin rail.  However, with your current power requirements both it and the UC2577 could hit current limit at 3A before delivering your maximum output power.  Therefore, the best solution for your current power requirements is the TPS40210 controller.
