LM3404HV: Ned Driver Design

Part Number: LM3404HV

I am Roger Peterson with PMMI Lighting. We are currently prototyping LED drivers to replace the MeanWell LDD-1000H. We manufacture Smart Lighting Systems and our system is capable of running up to 160 led drivers, each controlling up to 8, 6watt, 6fv led strings.

I have prototyped the LM3404HV and it is working quite well although we have a long way to go on testing yet. We are concerned with the variation in the product that we are seeing with the LDD-1000H and also are bring all of our manufacturing to the US. We need to know where this product stands in its life span and if there is newer technology that maybe we should be considering. Our needs are very narrow. only one driver which produces 1 amp constant current at a max voltage of 50 volts. But also able to run one 6fv led fixture.

Would appreciate any help you could give us.

  • Hi Roger,

For the LM3404HV device, even this is not a very new device but it is very famous in the market with its high quality and low EMI issue. And the COT control mode also helps it to achieve high dimming ratio performance. So don't worry about this life cycle, it is also our help products.
