Good morning,

When I start the application, i have to select manually bq35100 as target device and I get the warning attached. To me it is not a set up problem, beacause, even without connecting the Ev kit to the pc, the problem is still there suggesting that it comes from software compatibility. I am using the BatteryManagementStudio-1.3.101 version of the program.

Do you have any tips?

Hello Edoardo,

When you go past this page by clicking OK does it show the gauge is connected? If it is connected try the following:

You can download the bq35100 firmware on the product page, this should contain the .bqz and .srec file for the gauge. Place the .bqz in the default path: C:\ti\BatteryManagementStudio\config

Then test if it auto connects, if not then flash the .srec and restart, it should auto connect then.

If it is not communicating at all, check the connections.

Hi,

I have never gone further, since it says the device can get damages. .bqz file was already in that folder.

Do you think it is safe to proceed?

It is also not clear to me what should I do with the .srec file.

It is okay to proceed as long as you do not change any values, just look what the dashboard says.

Dashboard says device is still not connected.

I did not understand what should I do with the .srec, can you help me?

Hello Edoardo,

You will need to follow the EVM users guide:www.ti.com/.../sluubh7.pdf

You do not need to use the .srec yet because the gauge is most likely not connected correctly.
