TPS25947: Internal MOSFET short detection

Hello,

We are using the tps259470 in a new project and have a question: 

we were wondering if the device will indicate a Fault if one of the internal MOSFETs fails short? or open?

    Hi Keith,

    As long as the device is operated within its Abs Max Voltage rating the device has the capability to protect its internal FETs using Thermal Shut Down technique.  As the FETs will not get damaged we do not have the FET short or Open detection  feature in the device.

    The Internal FETs/ device can get damaged only when the device is operated at a voltage > Abs Max rating which is mentioned in section '7.1 Absolute Maximum Ratings' of the datasheet.
