TPS55288: TPS55288 OCP event in setting power output

Part Number: TPS55288

Hi all,

My customer is using TPS55288 and they use FB/INT pin as fault report function. Every time when they set VOUT output enable, they'll see OCP event sent from FB/INT pin and its output is pull down until we read register 0x07 to clear it. You can use EVM and set auto read function to 10 sec or more to confirm it. Is this an normal condition? Or how we separate the normal VOUT enable event and real OCP event if see INT pin is low?

Regards,

Gary

  • Hi Gary,

Very good question, we also found the same issue. We suggest the customer do in this way:

    1. Change  the default setting in the below register. Set  SC, OCP, OVP bit to 0.

    2. Then enable the IC by setting the OE bit to high.

    3. Set  SC, OCP, OVP bit to 1.

We will revise the datasheet very soon.
