TPS565201: Over current protection

Part Number: TPS565201

When tps5655201 was started, there were two starts with an interval of 160ms. During the test, it was found that there was an over-current of 10us, and the current reached 6A

1. Does 10us 6A over-current lead to over-current protection?

2. How long will it take to restart after over current protection? Why is the interval 160ms?

3. 65% of which voltage is 65% in the following picture?

4. Should the normal restart time be hiccup_ RE+THICCUP_ WAIT=14.9+1.8? What is the process of over current restart?

  • Hi Ping,

Could you share your schematic and waveform?

    1. Does 10us 6A over-current lead to over-current protection?

    [VZ] I think so.

    2. How long will it take to restart after over current protection? Why is the interval 160ms?

[VZ] After device shutdown, it takes 15ms to restart. Need to confirm on waveform.

    3. 65% of which voltage is 65% in the following picture?

    [VZ] Reference voltage

    4. Should the normal restart time be hiccup_ RE+THICCUP_ WAIT=14.9+1.8? What is the process of over current restart?

[VZ] Yes, and You can check the details in 7.3.4
