Hi,

We are planning to use battery charger BQ25790 to charge 2 LiFePo4 batteries. Dual input supply 1 from RV and another one from Solar panel.

We are planning to use solar supply effectively. Please confirm whether BQ25790 having automatic priority selection in build or not, if solar is available it will be the input to BQ25790.

 

Please comment on this.

    Hi Arun,

    The charger selects the input that appears first at the VAC1 or VAC2 pins.  If both are present at the same time, VAC1 has precedence. The host software can override by using the EN_ACDRVx bits.

    The BQ25798 in QFN package is a spin of BQ25792 (which is essentially the BQ25790 in QFN package) with MPPT feature for solar panel input.  This IC and EVM will APL by mid December.
