Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62160
Hi team,
I wonder if the customer can replace TPS62160 with TPS82150. I want to suggest TPS82150 as a small and simple design alternative to TPS62160. Is it valid in term of the performance? Thanks,

Ella,
Obviously the one major difference between these devices is the TPS82150's integrated 1uH inductor, which may or may not be an issue depending on the customer's application requirements. For instance, the smaller inductance will generate higher inductor ripple current, which means the TPS82150 device will enter PSM and begin reducing its switching frequency at a higher output load (Iout = 1/2 Ipeak) than the TPS62160 with a larger inductor.
There are some other minor differences that you can find in the datasheets such as the HS current limit and the TPS62160's lack of a programmable soft start/tracing feature, but in general, yes, the TPS82150 will give you similar performance to a TPS62160 based design.
Sincerely,
-Matt
