TLV742P: plating question to package of TLV742P

Part Number: TLV742P

Hi team,

Is the side of the package plated at the point of red arrow?

Customer wants to check solder wettability of the side fillet in customer's assembly process. The plating is needed to check the soldering status.

Regards,

Nishimura

  • Hi Nishimura-san,

Unfortunately, due to the Thanksgiving holiday here in the US I wasn't able to get in touch with anyone in our packaging department to confirm the answer to your question.

I believe/assume the answer is that the location you are referring to is not plated, because I believe the pin plating is done before the lead frame arrives at the Assembly site and then when the lead frames are singulated (sawed apart) you’d have a newly exposed piece of metal which wasn't plated.

I will need to follow up with the packaging team next week when we are back from the holiday.

  • Hi Nishimura-san,

I heard back from our packaging team and they confirmed that the metal on the side is exposed Cu since this is cut during the package saw singulation process.
