BQ35100: BQ35100 EOS MODE PROBLEM

Part Number: BQ35100

1.We use Lithium Thionyl Chloride cell parallel super capacitor as external battery. Whether EOS mode gauge is suitable for this battery or other gauge mode suitable?

2.Whether EOS mode max low power state time is 255s instead of gauge record time in user  manual documentation chapter 5.3?

3.When the gauge enters low power state, guage will power off and flash will erase. How to record the original battery information?

  • Hello Jing,

The bq35100 is the only gauge we have that supports your battery type. It may not be the best fit to use with a super cap as the ESR usually varies with temperature and prevents the gauge from being able to make a reliable EOS detection.

The bq35100 has a Chip Enable pin to turn the gauge off, when you send the gauge stop command the values are stored in flash.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
