Fuel Gauge for 18650 AND CR123

Hi,

In some cases, products such as torches can be designed to have a pair of CR123's (primary cell) OR a single 18650 (secondary) installed into the battery compartment.

Is there a way of configuring a single fuel gauge to work with both options?

Hello Jeremey,

You would need to tell the gauge which battery it is for this to work, some of our gauges are configurable to contain 2 different profiles in them but it must be indicated to the gauge which one to use.

Hello Jeremy,

The gauge I was referring to only works with secondary batteries, sorry for the misunderstanding. The only primary battery gauge we have is the bq35100, which can be configured in accumulation mode to work with multiple battery chemistries, but the MCU has to do more work to calculate the remaining capacity from how much charge has passed.
