TPS2663: Question about using schottky diode and unused Pin

Part Number: TPS2663
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5069,

Hi, I am going to use two parallel TPS26631 for my system.

I learned that using parallel TPS26631 from the this thread. https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management/f/196/p/955040/3530866#3530866

In addition, I have some more questions about TPS26631.

1. Don't I need any schottky diode at VOUT? When using Hot swap IC, normally I used schottky diode for protection. (ex. LM5069)

2. I want to know how to set unused pins. I just want to use TPS26631 for simple load switch, So I don't need PGOOD or FET Blocking or Imonitoring.

In this case, can I set below pins as NC?  or GND?

1. B_Gate

2. DRV

3. PGTH

4. PGOOD

5. FLT

6. IMON

Thanks.

  • Hi Hong,

    Thanks for reaching out!

1A) Schottky diode is needed at Vout even for TPS2663. Please refer the EVM schematic.

2A) B_GATE, DRV, PGOOD, FLT, IMON should be left OPEN and PGTH needs to connected to GND

    Best Regards, Rakesh
