BQ25616: Can't enter the constant current charging mode

Part Number: BQ25616

  • D+/D- float in the air
  •  Charging voltage:5V  ,output voltage:3V~4.2V        Maximum charging current is only 30 mA
  • Between the measurement SYS pin and BAT pin MOS did not open

  • Hi, Experts

      Any reply?

  • Hi Chalice,

The datasheet has an error in that it says the minimum charge current is 0A.  I do not think that RICHG=10kohm per your schematic is valid.  Since the minimum tested ITERM is 31mA with a range  of 9 mA to 57mA and RICHG=1100ohm, the minimum charge current cannot be much lower than ICHG=615mA with RISET=1100ohm.  Otherwise, the minimum termination will drop from 9mA to 0mA, which would prevent charge termination.  I am checking with the design team to determine the minimum charge current.

    Regards,

    Jeff
