TPS543620: Kevlin connect AGND to PGND near the BP5 cap

Part Number: TPS543620

Hi team

Could you explain the detail of Kevlin connect AGND to PGND near the BP5 cap in Figure 10-1?

Customer wants to understand what this means.

Regards,

Noriyuki Takahashi

  • Hi Takahashi-san,

This should say Kelvin connect. For this connection, the key thing is that it is a single point connection with low impedance to both PGND pins. Vias to an internal PGND plane can be used.

The vias to the internal PGND should be kept near the BP5 cap but away from the AGND pin and the bottom FB divider. This will help keep any noise caused by switching current provided by the BP5 cap away from the AGND pin and the FB divider. I've tried to show this with the image below.

Let me know if any more clarification is needed.
