BQ25611D: USB-UART bridge chip in parallel

Part Number: BQ25611D

Hello Team,

My customer would like to confirm if the input source type detection work by simply measuring a voltage on the USB D+- lines or does it actually communicate to the external charger? And wondering if I can connect a USB-UART bridge chip in parallel on the USB D+- lines without creating a bus conflict

Regards,

Renan

  • Hi Renan,

The D+/D- circuitry has both TX and RX voltage level and timing measurement requirements for the first 2 seconds following VBUS power up.  After that, the D+/D- pins go high impedance.  I recommend that the USB-UART be disabled or isolated by a USB switch.

    Regards,
