BQ76952: Fault logging in Standalone mode

Part Number: BQ76952

Hi Team,

If the device (BQ76952) is in standalone mode (i.e. used without a host MCU), and a fault occurs, does the device have the capability to log the faults (i.e the device stores the faults that occurred with a timestamp), which can later be retrieved?

Regards,

Taru

  • Hi Taru,

There is some limited capability (nothing fancy like timestamps though). You can look at the SAVED_PF_STATUS command and the PF_OTP bit in the BQ76952 Technical Reference Manual. It can preserve the status of the permanent failure events.

A host MCU would be needed to get much more detailed information.

    Best regards,

    Matt
