This device is currently supported by our group.  However, our expertise is limited to the analog power sections, and the original SM3320 board, which was developed 11 years ago, did not use the I2C interface. Let me attach one article and see if you can get the answer from it.

Actually I think there is some mismatch between my question and your answer.

I'm talking about reference design based on SM72442, which has part number SM3320-BATT-EV.

Through this link you can find full design files for the reference design board which include source files for communication between SM72442 and PIC16F722.

The I2C channel used for configuring parameters of SM72442. From the page 11 of snosb76c.pdf reference design datasheet there is a clear description about the functions available in the source code.

The problem is, that I tried to make a blank project in MPLAB IDE X, added these source files and tried to compile it. As a result I got that there is a missing header files system.h.

The question is, what I did wrongly and is there any instruction how to compile/modify the source code?

Or does anybody made any modification in the source code?

Hi Grigor,

I really wish our team could help you out but we are all analog power engineers and the resources to support the digital section of the SM72442 cannot be easily located. It is a legacy device from the former National Semi's Solarmagic project and even the ref design was done 10 years ago. If this becomes an obstacle to your project, you may consider to switch to the C2000 which TI still have adequate resources to support you.
