UCC27611OLEVM-203: UCC27611

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27611

Could the driver be used to drive the top egan on a full bridge configuration. The input PWM signal is isolated from ground by a pulse tranformer and then fed to the input of the egan driver.

An isolated or a booth-strap supply will feed the driver.

I tred to simulate the driver with LTspice in a full bridge configuration without any success. Is there a reason for not being able to simulate the circuit?

No problem with the bottom egan transistors and driver, that is connected connected to circuit ground.

  • Victor,

The UCC27611 and other low-side driver models will not support floating conditions where the GND is not referenced to 0V.

The model was intended to work as a simple low-side driver and from your description, it sounds like your intending to use the IC as current booster to drive the high-side gate.

For such application, I may recommend our bridge family with sufficient drive current to pulse both the high-side and low-side gates and reducing your solution size.
