TPS23753A: About over current protection

Part Number: TPS23753A

Hi,

Our customer is using TPS23753A now.

1. They would like to know the scheme of how this device protect against overcurrent.

2. Does this device detect over current through the voltage level of CS pin?

3. If the over current protection function works, what's the state of this device?

    for example, Hiccup, Latch-up, etc.

Could you please explain and answer about above 3 items?

Best Regards,

Michael

  • Hi,

Thank you for your question. Please see answers to your questions below -

    1. Section 8.4.6.3 in the TPS23753A details the protection (hiccup mode protection). To summarize, once the voltage on the CS pin exceeds Vcs,max it forces the FET off and will force the IC into hiccup mode.

    2. Yes

    3. Hiccup mode

Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!
