LM5122: When the high side driver is unused

Hello E2E,

Is it possible to use the LM5122 with the asynchronous rectification method (diode rectification)?
The High side driver is unnecessary and will not be used. If I connect the SW-pin to GND, does it affect the operation?

Hi,

Thank you for posting. Yes you can replace the sync FET with a diode and not use the high sider driver like you described. Just do not ground HB and HO pin. Leave them open or place a 10k to GND on each of them.

Hi,

We have plan to output 300V from 35V input by 4-phase shift. Does grounding the SW-pin affect the operation?

Hi,

Since you do not use the high side driver, it should be grounded and it should be okay. I do not understand why the output voltage has an effect now. Could you clarify?
