UCC28950-Q1: IDD

Part Number: UCC28950-Q1

Hi,

I have some questions for IDD.

Fig5 of the datasheet P11 shows 3.7A of current consumption for IC itself is correct?

The datasheet P6 shows  SUPPLY CURRENTSのIDD TYP:5mA、MAX:10mA.

Why it's different from 3.7A and max 10mA?

ISOURCE、ISINK CURRENT is included above current value?

As for ISOURCE、ISINK CURRENT, how much current is consumed for comp pin is not connected or Hi-Z status?

Regards,

Kasuya

  • Hello,

I looked at the UCC28950-Q1 data sheet and it is a timing diagram.  I do not see any mention of 3.7 A.  Could you please clarify this?

    Regards,

  • Hi,

    Sorry for my typo.

    It's 3.7mA.

Why it's different value between (a) and (b)?

(a)P.11 Figure5 Supply Current vs Temperature
    (b)P.6 6.5 Electrical Characteristics
      SUPPLY CURRENTS
      IDD Operating supply current TYP:5mA、MAX:10mA

    Regards,

    Kasuya

  • Hi, Kasuya-san,

Same issue as my previous post. The data in the electrical characteristics table is for a large quantity of devices, and 10 mA represents the upper end of the potential spread of units. The plot is for one unit, so unfortunately, sometimes the data in the plot doesn't exactly correspond to the typical value in the tabular data. You should use the 10 mA in your design as that is the worst-case situation.
