Hi TI Experts,

I'm designing a PFC for my ceiling fan application.

I'm planning to use UCC28180D, where my application is for 40W, is this PFC Controller(UCC28180D) is feasible for my design ? can I achieve PFC for my application.

Your allowed to suggest other PFC Controller too.

Hi Raja，

UCC28180 is CCM single phase controller and UCC28056 is single phase CRM controller.

If without any additional information, I would say both UCC28180 and UCC28056 can support.

if you can offer more information about the spec, for example,

input voltage range:

PFC output votalge,

input votlage frequency range,

does the power has standby power requirement?

does the power need brown out function?

I would add more comment if you can offer.

Thank your for quick response.

input voltage range: 85-264VAC

PFC output: 390V

Input frequency range: 47-65Hz

switching frequency: 120kHz

Brown out function not required.

I hope based on this information you can able to comment further.

is this schematic ok for the design, only PFC stage is considered.
