LP8866-Q1: Stop to work after few seconds

Part Number: LP8866-Q1

Hi team,

My customer tries to bring up the custom board with LP8866-Q1, and we asking you to help us, please.

The device is configured to 4ch, Hybrid Dimming, 150mA(Riset=20KOhm), 24Vin, 11 WLEDs in series. Freq = 1818kHz. Feedback divider 560/33kOhm.

PWM pin is grounded. Brightness controlled via I2C registers.

When EN pin set to logic 1, the boost voltage is 40.5V.

Then, SW write 0x0200 to USER_CONFIG1 and 0xFA00 to BRT_CONTROL. The boost voltage becomes 35.4V. But after 5-10 seconds LEDs and boost is turned off. The total BOOST output current is about 160mA, but expected current is 150*4=600mA.

We are reading out status registers during the operation. The BSTOVPL_STATUS bit is constantly set. FSM_LIVE_STATUS is 0x10. The VBOOST_STATUS is slowly growing starting from 0x0700 to 0x07f7. When the VBOOST_STATUS  reaches 0x07f7 value - the boost and LEDs are turned off.

After boost and LEDs are turned off, the LED_STATUS becomes 0x044f and FSM_LIVE_STATUS =0x13.

Please help us to understand what is going on with the LP8866-Q1.
