TPS92611-Q1: Input Capacitance

Part Number: TPS92611-Q1

Hello Team,

Is there a maximum amount of capacitance specified for the supply pin of the TPS92611-Q1? Since the TPS92611-Q1 is wide-vin, in may be supplied by the main battery voltage rail of a module, which could have >1mF of capacitance, so I want to make sure this is acceptable.

If it is the case where the supply pin is fed by the main battery voltage rail of the module with >1mF of capacitance, it is okay to only have C2 (100nF) directly next to the supply pin and forego adding an additional 1uF to decouple the supply pin?

Thank you,

Jared

  • Your understand is right, but between battery and our device there will be an about 5m wire. And the 1uF is used for decoupling.

From another side for our experience in EMC test, 1uF ceramic capacitor has benefit on it.

So I think 1uf cap can't be removed.
