LM2940C: Is there max. restriction for input capacitor?

Hi Team

My customer is considering use LM2940CS-5.0/NOPB.

He wants to add capacitor to input side in order to keep input voltage stable. 

Is there a max. restriction for input capacitor? 

I couldn't find the info in the datasheet.
