BQ34Z100EVM: BQ34Z100EVM

Part Number: BQ34Z100EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ34Z100, GPCCHEM

We are trying to work through characterization of a lithium battery cell.  We get a lot of error codes in the log file generated by the Battery Management Studio 1.3.101.  Sometimes the logging just shuts down with no warning.  Also, we get some discrepancies in the current and voltage through out our test setup.

We are using #12 wire through out the setup.  Total length of all the wire is less than 3 feet and each leg is less than 2 feet. The battery is 105 Ah at 3.65 volts.  We are charging and discharging using a programmable load and power supply at 10 amps.  See diagram attached.

I've worked through a few setup issues, the power supply was residually drawing 24 ma even powered off, so it was showing a little on the log file.  The Chem ID file tool indicated an error in the data due to this non-zero number so when we are not charging, I disconnect the lead to the power supply.

The current draw checked with a Fluke clamp on DC amp meter varies through out the setup.  The current draw in the software doesn't always agree.  Sometimes it take several calibrations.

It seems to be random issues that are killing our data collection and given it is a 27 hour process to do this Chem ID  test we don't really want to keep doing it over and over.

Has anyone in the forum had similar issues and is there something wrong with our setup?

Thanks
