We are using this device in our custom board. On fault condition output capacitor discharged through internally through 80mA source. So we added an current limiting resistor Ro at the out pin. Want to know how to calculate the resistor Ro wattage required in the path.

Current will be governed by Vout/Ro or 80mA which ever is lower.

As per our simulation with 80mA source the current governed by 80mA source since it is on higher side. Please let me know I'm i making any mistake?

Hi Raj,

That should not be practically possible as 80mA develops a voltage of 144V across 1.8k Ro value. This would cause a voltage of -132V at the OUT pin which is not practical. Please get an EVM and modify as per your target specs for evaluation 

What is the max load of your system ?
