BQ27531-G1: Could you tell me why R25 is populated?

Hi Team,

Regarding Figure 12, could you tell me why R25 is populated?
I believe R25 isn't required because the datasheet shows the following when external thermistor is used.

(datasheet page 11)
When an external thermistor is used, a 18.2-kΩ pullup resistor between the BI/TOUT and TS pins is also required.

I understand R25 (1k ohm) is required.

Could you tell me where does the datasheet describe about the resistor?
I would also like to know why the resistor is required for my reference.

R25 is part of biasing network for TS pin.
