Hi Team,

In on going power supply board design need clarifications on followings,

1. Enable pins,

For 4 Buck only 3 Enable pins are available, How to enable Buck 4 ?

2. I2C address

We are using 2 Nos in same part number. How to program two IC for various supply levels at one time? Is it possible to change Address?

3. Programming.

Is it One Time Programmable or Need a host device to program each time on power up to configure the power supply levels?

Hi,

1. Enable pins:

LP87524B-Q1 BUCKs are configured to power up with single enable pin (EN1) and regulators will power up as soon as EN1 pin is high (assuming that VIN/VANA and NRST are already high). Refer to LP87524B/J/P-Q1 Technical Reference Manual for the power up sequence timing and default configuration.

2. I2C address:

If you are using two devices with the same part number, then I2C address is also same for both the devices and you cannot change the I2C address. So, you will have to use different I2C buses to communicate with different PMIC's. But if you are using default configuration of LP87524B-Q1, it will power up without I2C support. If you have single I2C bus in your system and want to use PMIC I2C bus, then we may need to define new OTP, but it requires some business case justification and for this, please contact local TI sales team and they will be able help you with this.

3. Programming:

PMIC will come up by its own in its default mode and you cannot update One Time Programmable settings. Once PMIC is powered up, you can use the I2C to change certain device settings, but these settings are reset to default configuration for the next power up.
