UCC20225: As level shifter

Hello team,

 

Our customer is considering isolation gate driver as level shifter and they would like to translate 0-5V at 5MHz square wave to -6 – 10V.

They think UCC20225 can be applied to 5MHz frequency but if you have any other suggestion please let me know.

Here is their requirements for gate driver.

  • Vs                 more than 20V
  • Tr                 less than 30ns
  • Rdson           less than 5ohm
  • Fsw              5MHz

    Hi Michiaki,

    For clarification, when you say -6 -10, you mean -6v and +10v? And I assume you mean VDD of +10 and Vss = -6 correct?

    Can you describe what load you are driving? This as well as the power dissipation will be the limiting factor for trying to achieve 5Mhz switching. 

    It would be helpful if you can draw a diagram of what you are trying to do, including the supply voltages. What power switch are you using?
