TLC6C5712-Q1: Combining multiple outputs to supply a single LED

Part Number: TLC6C5712-Q1

Hello, Team,

From the datasheet Fig. 109 (p.57), it states that outputs can be tied together to supply a single LED.

We would like to supply 200mA to the LED from 4 OUT pins which outputs 50mA each (= 4 * 50mA = 200mA).

It seems that we should tie either odd or even no. of OUT pins (e.g., OUT0, OUT2, OUT4, OUT6 or OUT1, OUT3, OUT5, OUT7).

We would like to confirm two things:
1. Is this correct understanding that we could tie multiple outputs(, and it should be either even/odd no.) to supply a single LED?
2. If above is ok, what do we need to take care?

Thanks and Best Regards,
Masaru

  • 1. Is this correct understanding that we could tie multiple outputs(, and it should be either even/odd no.) to supply a single LED? You can parallel 4 channel to supply one LED.

    2. If above is ok, what do we need to take care? No special points need to care.
