LM5116: LM5116 start up problem at load condition

Dear Team,

       

For our Buck converter application, My output requirement is 14.2V/10A.UVLO is 36V.  When I will apply full load @ converter off condition then I will turn on input, converter is going to hiccup mode (1.6V and 6A current is taking). Please suggest a solution to resolve this problem.

    Hello Adhiyaman,

    Please refer to the Soft start section in the datasheet as i suspect your soft start time maybe too fast for the output capacitance you have in your design?  Suggest increasing value of soft start capacitor to slow the output voltage rise and reduce current burden at start up.
