LM74700-Q1: VCAP capacitor connection

Hi,

In the datasheet of LM74700-Q1, the capacitor is placed between VCAP and Anode pin. Whether it is ok to connect the Capacitor from VCAP to GND? Please refer the below image

What impact will be on the design if capacitor is connected between VCAP and GND?

Hi Viswa,

The cap should be connected between source (Anode) and charge pump block to provide energy to turn-on the external MOSFET. Since, the drive circuit is referenced with the Anode, placing the cap between VCAP and GND won't be useful and it may load/stress the charge pump circuit.

No. We don't have equations to estimate the stress.
