TPS55165-Q1: The SPICE model of TPS55165-Q1 (for LTspice)

I tried the LTspice simulation of the Step-Up/ Down Voltage Regulator TPS55165-Q1, but it doesn't work (the simulation stops after a few us): do you have an updated SPICE model (for LTspice or TINA) of TPS55165-Q1?

Attached is the LTspice file that does not work.

Hi Pierluigi,

we had released the unencrypted model of this device. you should be able to use such model in TLspice or TINA.

did you try TINA, let us know if the model doesn't work in TINA. TI also have PSPICE for TI for simulation

Hi Jasper,

I used the model downloaded from https://www.ti.com/product/TPS55165-Q1 (SLVMCA3B.ZIP (83 KB) - PSpice Model, file “TPS55165-Q1_TRANS.LIB”), but the simulation doesn't work (the simulation stops after a few us), as You can see in the attached file "tps55165-q1_12V.7z": isn't that the model to use with LTSpice?

I didn't use LTspice before, so I'm not sure about the reason. maybe it is software setup issue.

we will try in PSpice again to check if there is any issue about the modeling file.

I checked the model in PSpice. It works well.

Maybe you could have a try with TI-pspice. https://www.ti.com/tool/PSPICE-FOR-TI

HI Jasper,

There was a mistake in my schematic: made the correction and changed a parameter in the LTspice software setup, and finally the simulation works.

The simulation (transitory of 5ms) takes a long time (about 1 hour and 20 minutes), and, with a little patience, the results seem OK.
