Need a Reference Design for 3 Phase Inverter 25KW.

Dear TI team,

I"m new to this forum could you help me with any reference design for 3Phase Inverter.

The technical parameters and specifications of the Inverter are as stated below:

Sr No. Parameter Specification
1 Rated output 25 kW at 0.8 PF lagging
2 Load 25kW load comprises of 5.5kW and 2.2kW motor load respectively. Both the inductive loads are connected to inverter through individual Soft Starters. When the motor loads are not running, Inverter is supposed to run on 25kW load with continuous duty. Also, Inverter should be designed to withstand sudden loading from 0-100%.
3 Input supply (DC) 20V to 50V. Functional range should be from 24-33V DC, whereas it should be able to withstand upto 50V and enable disconnection incase voltage rises above 33V.
4 Output supply (AC) 415V, 50HZ, 3PH. Tolerances: Voltage : ± 1.5% Frequency : ± 2%
5 Efficiency >90%
6 Over load rating 110% for 30 minutes
7 Duty Continuous. Frequent motor operations are envisaged.
8 Harmonics Overall : less than 5% Individual : 3% Input ripple : <3%

Could you help me please! Deeply awaiting your reply.

  • Hi Vijay,

we do not provide systems as turnkey solutions for a requirement set. This is typically done by a systems vendor.

We may have reference designs that may be close or can help the customer get started with their evaluation of TI Silicon in these applications.

Certainly, the C2000 MCU is used in a variety of these applications.

For getting started with motor control application with a boost at input needed, this is the closest I can recommend to get started.

  • Dear Mr.Manish,

Thank you for your reply. Could you share me your contact number to contact you directly for some help? Also we have found a design TIDA-020030 would you suggest us to use the same? If yes this take DC I/p of 400-1200V. So what do you suggest shall we go for an DC-DC boost for 24V to 400V? Could share us some reference design for the same? Deeply awaiting your reply.

    Regards!

  • Vijay,

The design is for the IGBT gate driver,

Yes it can be used, however I am unable to provide you a full path of how these will come together. This takes some significant time and effort to do the trade off analysis, and is a consulting task we do not provide through e2e.

If you have a specific question related to it, i will recommend posting as a new thread so it can go to the correct individual.

For the DC-DC boost i will recommend starting with the interleaved boost as on the HV motor PFC kit.

  • Dear Mr.Manish,

Could you suggest some reference design for DC -DC boost for the same? Deeply awaiting your reply.

  • Vijay,

Interleaved boost, similar to what is on HV Motor PFC kit is what I can suggest.

We do not have a 25kW boost design specifically.

  • Dear Mr. Manish,,

Could you share me the Link for your "HV Motor PFC kit" you are referring to? Also you must have some reference design for 24DC to 450VDC design which is mostly used in UPS now a days? So if you can share me even upto 10kw or similar i can try upgrading to it to my needs with some modification or paralleling them. Deeply awaiting your reply.

    Best Regards,

      Vijay Gohil

  • Vijay,

Also for the 24V DC to 450V, the closest we did was a active clamp flyback at 600W,

I do not have any other recommendations to offer.
