TPS65381A-Q1: Enable the ENDRV pin when debugger is connected.

Hi,

we are using TPS65381A-Q1 with renesas controller and the device is intialized with all proper settings and watchdog mechanism and we could see ENDRV pin is enabled by TPS65381A-Q1(through scope it is 5v continuosly).we want to see the same when debugger is connected(TPS65381A is always in safe state(4) not in active state(5)).we do not have bootloader at the moment in our project.

- Since it is working very well without debugger ,can we exclude some initializations/or some forceful methods to make ENDRV(pin32) output as HIGH from TPS65381A when debugger is connected.

I am a little confused about what exactly you are looking to do. Can you explain what you are trying to test with the debugger? Can you also describe what this debugger is?

HI,

In our architecture ,BLDC motor pre driver IC is controlled by TPS65381A-Q1 IC ENDRV output and renesas microcontroller.

Our understanding is ,when our custom board is connected with renesas E2 debugger and code is executed(which intializes TPS65381A-Q1 for watchdog Q&A mechanism ,other necessary power output initializations) in debug mode,Watchdog mechanism is not properly working(Which is working very well without debugger connection) .It results in ENDRV pin output to low resulting in not able to test other peripherals.

Hello,

I am not aware of how the Renesas debugger works and what issues may be caused when using it. I would recommend scoping the SPI lines to see if the watchdog Q&A is coming from the Renesas debugger. For specific software issues with the Renesas debugger I would recommend reaching out to Renesas.
