LM20146: Comparator threshold

Genius 4840 points
Part Number: LM20146
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62869

 LM20146 has internal +2.7V REGULATOR.

If thix regulator output become 2.6V,does this cause internal comparator threshold voltage drop ?

  • Hi Kura-san,

Per page 3 of the D/S, the VCC pin voltage is normally between 2.45V and 2.95V.  2.6V is ok and expected for the device.

LM20146 is quite old.  Would the newer, smaller TPS62869 meet your needs?

    Thank you for your reply.

Do you have data of comparator threshold voltage @VCC 2.45V to 2.95V ?

    Regards,

    Kura

  • Hi Kura-san,

Which comparator threshold voltage are you referring to?

Is there some specific issue that you are debugging?

  • Chris-san

    Thank you for your reply.

    OVERVOLTAGE comparator is.

Our custmer checked some IC,they found OV thresholds are 840mV~866mV.

They would like to know relationship between OVERVOLTAGE comparator threshold and VCC.

    Regards,

    864 mV

  • Hi Kura-san,

It sounds like your actual question is about the OVP threshold?  Is that correct?

If you have further questions on the OVP threshold, as measured in your application, please send the measurement waveform and setup.

If you are measuring the OVP threshold by measuring the voltage on the FB pin, and if you are getting FB voltages between 840mV an 866mV, this is within the specification.  The 840 mV and 866 mV are 5% and 8% above the nominal FB pin voltage of 0.8V, which is within the OVP limits on page 4 of the D/S. There is no issue with these values.

The relationship, if any, between the VCC voltage and OVP threshold is not specified.
