BQ24210: for photovoltaic panel

Hello Guys,

Good day.

Need your advise if the BQ24210DQC is suitable for the photovoltaic panel with below specifications:

Pmax (W) = 5W
Voltage at Pmax (V) = 18.1 V
Current at Pmax (A) = 0.29 A
Open voltage circuit (V) = 22.2 V

    Hi Art,

    If the BQ24210 is configured correctly with the VBUS_DPM feature (leave it open for battery tracking mode), I don't believe there would be any issues. The ultimate concern would be to ensure that the solar panel can allow the device to enter charge mode and not load or sleep mode when needed as shown in the following image (Figure 4. Operation Mode Detection Flow Chart).
