BQ34110: FCC not updating

Part Number: BQ34110

Did a qualified discharge and logged it, see attached.

During the discharge, batt stat remained at 0x4125. The second to last row this changed to 0x0081, and the last row was 0x0001. In this last row, the column FullChgCap changed from 2200 to 9900, which is very close to design capacity and is correct. However, this was NOT saved into the gauge. A few rows later after power cycling the gauge, FCC remained at 2200.

1. How do I get FCC to save?

2. How do I get SOH to update? It remains at 22% too.

Hello Derek,

Make sure all the values are uploaded to the gauge like design capacity and the CEDV parameters. The FCC is calculated and stored in RAM and is based on calculations from ADC readings and dataflash that is set by your configuration.

Same with SOH reported, the gauge will not report this correctly until you configure the gauge for your application.

All values have been uploaded to the gauge.

I've tried full discharges and full charges but FCC remains at 2200mAh (should be 9900mAh) and SOH is reporting 22%. How do I fix this? See log file in previous post, in particular the end. Why doesn't the FCC get updated?

Hello Derek,

Can you share the corresponding .gg file that was used for this test (pulled before the test)

I would suspect the gauge would update the FCC if there was a qualified discharge, CEDV gauges update FCC upon a qualified discharge.

Did you also update the learned full charge capacity in the gas gauging tab of data memory?
