Hi,

I want the device to work literally like MPPT but it works as a buck converter. So I want it to do buck boost.

Can a buck-boost converter be made at the output of BQ24650 IC?

    Hi Samet,

      The MPPT function is similar to the VINDPM feature on our other chargers. Both are input voltage regulation loops that help maintain the input voltage at the set point, while decreasing the charge current to decrease the load on the input source so that the source voltage can be maintained. When set to the MPP of the solar panel, it lets you maximize power output from your input solar panel source.

    You can refer to the BQ25713 which is a buck boost charger which can accomplish what you want. BQ24650 cannot be modified to operate as a buck boost charger.
