BQ24250: Charge current setting

Part Number: BQ24250
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25618

Dear Team,

Does this register set charging current in c.c mode?

The datasheet also note 500mA to 2A in c.c mode. I am confusing. Is min current 500mA?

But the table shown as  below charge current can set 50mA.

Customer wants to set charing current is 300mA ,and 450mA in c.c mode.

Could you advise set current in I2C mode or Iset resistor pin?

Many Thanks

Jimmy

  • Hi Jimmy,

Minimum charge per the register is 500mA which increases in steps of 50mA with +/-7% accuracy.  The LOW_CHG bit in register #5 (mem location 04) forces charge current to 330mA +/-10%.  When selected in I2C (default), the ISET pin sets the charge current.  Charge currents below 330mA have not be tested. Please add the resistor tolerance to the accuracy percentages.

    I recommend moving to BQ25618 or 619.

    Regards,

    Jeff
