BQ35100: state of charge performance without battery temperature sensing

Part Number: BQ35100

We are planning to use this part to monitor a string of batteries. The system currently does not have a feasible way to connect a thermistor from the batteries to the device (or locate the device near the batteries). Can someone provide a general view of the degree to which the monitoring performance (state of charge) would be degraded by not having an accurate battery temperature? Perhaps there is an app note or white paper on this that I have not found yet. I saw some posts that touched on this question but did not find one with a direct answer.

Thanks - Jason
