BQ25611D: BQ25611D: STAT blinking

Part Number: BQ25611D

Hi,

My cusotmer is evaluting BQ25611D. but he found when charging to 4.1V, the led indicaiton of STAT pin will blink. I'm trying to figure out what's this fault is. but according to datasheet,(searching "blink"), only found saftey timer expiration fault. I wonder if there is any other fault will cause the blinking. thanks.

  • Yue,

Looking at Table 9-5. STAT Pin State, we see the possible condition for STAT to be blinking. The following conditions are listed:

"input over-voltage, TS fault, safety timer fault or system over-voltage"

Please alleviate the cause of these conditions to proceed with charging.

    Best Regards,

    Ricardo

  • Ricardo,

Thanks for the reply, according to datasheet, does this mean all these faults will show the same blinking pattern :1Khz?

one more question, is there an approach to disable the blinking?  I mean totally not use this function. just need low and high indication.

  • Hi,

We will get back to you in the next business day.

    Thanks,

    Ning.

  • Yue,

The fault conditions all share the same 1 Hz blinking pattern. Unfortunately, for your application, the blinking STAT output cannot be suppressed. It might be worth noting that ideally, these fault conditions would not occur often.

    Best Regards,

    Ricardo
