hi,
from web page of TLV740p, the operating temperature is up to 125C.
Operating temperature range (C)-40 to 125
but the datasheet is recommend to 85C.
can I know which one is correct?
if 85C is correct, for sot23-5 package, the max ambient temperature is -26.69C for 5Vin, 3,3Vout. Is this correct?
85-216*(5V-3.3V)*0.3=-26.69C

Hey Frank,
The device's datasheet has a maximum Tj rating of 125C. But as the footnote says, prolonged use in ranges above 85C may compromise the reliability of the device.
Please reference section 7.3.6 Thermal Shutdown below
As for the ambient temperature calculation, the thermal resistance value is dependent on the layout of your board.
Section 8.1.7 Power Dissipation (PD) and Section 8.1.7.1 Estimating Junction Temperature in the data sheet explain how to calculate this value.
