Monolithic voltage regulator, point-of-load regulator or load switch

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2595

I’m looking for a monolithic voltage regulator, point-of-load regulator, or load switch with the following:

  • 3.3V input and output
  • Goal for input-to-output voltage drop less than 50 mV
  • Current capability: ≥700 mA
  • Current limit, preferably fixed in the approximate range of 700 mA to 1 amp, or programmable
  • Temperature range: -55 to 125° C
  • Available as die or wafer, preferably as known good die

Thank you

  • Hi Mike,

    Welcome to E2E!

Please look at TPS2595 and let us know if you have any follow up questions.

    Best Regards, Rakesh

  • Rakesh,

Thank you very much for getting back to me about this! I have two additional questions:

    1.  Is this part available in die or wafer form, preferably as known good die?

    2.  The data sheet indicates a temperature range of -40 to +125° C. Do you think this part could operate (or have a chance to operate) at -55° C? I need this for the military/aerospace applications that we supply solutions for.

    Thank you,

    Mike Glass

  • Hi Mike,

Thanks for your interest in this device!!

    1. Sorry, but part is not sold in die form.

    2. Part should be operated in specified temperature range. Operating part beyond recommended conditions for prolonged periods can make its operation unreliable. I will get back to you regarding the feasibility of operating this device at  -55°C.

Do you want to operate it for long time at -55°C?

    Regards

  • Kunal,

Thank you for getting back to me again.

Our applications for this part are for military/aerospace. Since some of those applications are for systems located within pods and pylons on or under aircraft wings, they can be subject to the air stream and therefore cold temperatures (below -40° C, especially at higher altitudes) for extended continuous periods of time.

As Micross purchases a lot of products in die form from TI, I am disappointed that you won’t supply us this part in die form. Are you sure that you wouldn’t consider doing this?

    Thank you,

    Mike Glass

  • Kunal,

    Thank you.

  • Hi Mike,

    Sorry for delayed response.

We recommend to operate device within the recommended temperature range that is –40°C to +125°C and we guarantee device reliable operation within this range. Reliable operation beyond this range in your case around -55C is not guaranteed. Since  part is not meant for this range it can damage, behave unexpectedly .

Regarding the availability in die form please contact  local sales team. If you are unable to reach them please post query on customer support center.

    Happy to help you!!
