EV2400: EV2400 for Battery Management Studio

I am switching to a newer computer (window 10) and unable to get Battery Management Studio to work.

I am able to use EV2300 with window Vista on my other setup.

I was thinking because window10 doesn't support EV2300 so I got EV2400 but still no luck.

The lower-left corner always shows "Not able to find a free communications adapter.

Do I need a driver to get this work? Please let me some advice.

I think I should mention this as well.

Sometimes Battery Management Studio interface detects EV2400 but still unable to read the board (bq4050).

This board can be read by my other setup (ev2300 + Battery Management Studio).

Hello Allen,

Thanks for the details. EV2400 uses inbuilt windows drivers, therefore it is not necessary to install any drivers. Since Battery Management Studio sometimes recognizes the EV2400, we can assume that the EV2400 is working. If the drivers are not working reliably, then I suggest that you try restarting your PC and try again.

Other suggestions

1. Make sure there is only 1 instance of Battery Management Studio running - each instance grabs on to a EV2400 and makes it unavailable for other instances

2. Check SMBus connections.

3. "Wake up" the gauge by shorting Pack+ to Batt+

Hi Allen,

Few other suggestions

1. Check if Windows recognized EV2400 and loaded drivers: When EV2400 is connected, it shows up in Control Panel->Devices and Printers.

2. Replace USB cable

3. Do a fresh install of Battery Management Studio. Uninstall it, then delete c:\ti\BatteryManagementStudio folder and reinstall

4. Check if EV2400 hardware is damaged - try EV2400 on the Vista machine where you have EV2300 working.
