BQ25619: Still having 1.2 mA current in ship mode?

Part Number: BQ25619

Hello,

I use BQ25619 in hand held device. The BATFET Q4 can be turn on or off without problem(write 0b01101100 to REG07 to turn off, or QON low to turn on).

My question is, why the battery still be drained about 1.2mA after BATFET is turn off. In SHIP MODE, the battery should be drained only tens of uA, as stated in data sheet.

Any other setting needed to enter SHIP MODE, except to set the BATFET_DIS bit of REG07? Thank you very much!

(Here below is the schematics)

  • Dominic,

There is definitely something wrong here. I see you have BATFET_DLY enabled. The BATFET will not be turned off until after 10s. Are you still seeing 1.2 mA after 10 s?

    Best Regards,

    Ricardo

  • Hello Ricardo,

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I know the off of BATFET is delayed.

After more check, I found the 1.2mA should be caused by the fuel gauge that between battery and charger IC, the BQ25619 has no problem.

My apologies and this thread can be closed.

    Have a nice day!
