BQ76952: CB_SET_LVL

Part Number: BQ76952

Dear Team,

Could you please make me clear the following point :

"0x0084   CB_SET_LVL  => Start balancing cells that are above the written voltage threshold. This will not balance adjacent cells or more cells than the programmed limit."

what will be threshold voltage here ?

a. cell voltage ?

b. cell voltage difference ?

  • Hi Dileep,

The CB_SET_LVL command should be used with a voltage.

The device support automated cell balancing where the device makes all cell balancing decisions. For this you need to configure the thresholds, cell voltage difference, etc. and the device will automatically balance when the conditions are met.

The device also supports host-controlled balancing. The CB_SET_LVL command is one of the host commands. In this case the host decides when to balance - it will balance all cells the are above the voltage sent along with the command. This command will still avoid balancing adjacent cells or more cells than the limit set by Cell Balance Max Cells.

    Best regards,

    Matt
