BQ25792: IINDPM_RANGE, IINDPM_ACC and ILIM_HIZ usage

Part Number: BQ25792

hi,

we are working on a 2S charger based on BQ25792.

VIN is 12V and max charging current of 5A, load current 1.5A, input current roughly 3A.

I would need some clarification on usage of IINDPM_RANGE and IINDPM_ACC.

Should be setup ILIM_HIZ? Or these all input limiting are only for OTG?

thansk a lot in advance

KR

Vincenzo

  • Hi Vincenzo,

IINDPM and ILIM_HIZ are for forward (charge) mode not reverse (OTG) mode.  ILIM clamps input current limit regardless of the value in the IINDPM register, unless the EN_ILIM bit is set to 0.  IINDPM_RANGE allows the input current up to 3.3A and IINDPM_ACC shows the accuracy at different IINDPM levels as set by the register.
