TPS61196: Can TPS61196 reach 400mA?

Hi,

Can TPS61196 reach 400mA and meet the following SPEC?

INPUT=24VDC

OUTPUT= 36V/400mA * 6 ch LED(Need current balance )

Must have dimming(45ms on/45 ms off)

When the Driver is abnormal need the pin to send an error signal (ex.OVP.OTP.OCP.OPEN...)

total power 86.4W

Hi Robin,

My customer SPEC needs the 400mA in a continuous state for 45ms, but the datasheet show as the "200-mA Continuous Output, 400-mA Pulse Output for Each String".

May I ask the time of the 400mA plus output? thanks.

Hi Rock,

There is no accurate time set for 400mA output. For such large current, it's recommended sink current in pulse mode. You'd better apply an EVM to have a bench test to find out if the power dissipation and temperature rise can meet your design requirements.
